Phineas, also known as Finny, is sixteen years old and is a student at the Devon School. He is Gene Forrester's classmate and best friend.
His strengths are honesty, self-confidence and he has a very forgiving nature. He is a very good athlete with natural abilities.
His weaknesses are his inability to realize the act of betrayal, his stubbornness to believe the truth and his care-free and self-absorbed attitude. He thinks that everyone is just like he is, which is unrealistic.
*However, his inability to see others as hostile is both his weakness as well as his strength.
